Cirque du Soleil – Dralion Show

Last thursday I went to see Cirque du Soleil. It is forbidden (and they check your bags for cameras!) to record the show in any way, so I will have to write about it to share with you something about my experience.
Each show integrates a theme with the performance of typical circus routines. They have clowns, gymnasts, and all the typical bones that go with the trade. But all similarities stop here. As soon as it starts, everything is different.
Two singers, thoroughly  and exquisitely dressed and painted, continuously sing (together or alternately)  with melodious voices, with a small orchestra providing the instrumental background. There are no loose moments as in typical shows, and they make the main artists performances run smoothly in between each other, connected by other elements that are on stage with that purpose. Lights, fogs, vigorous bodies, fantastic characterization, smooth and beautiful transitions; they also manage very well to draw your attention to certain elements so that the stage crew can put trampolines and other things on stage, and you don’t even realize it.  Sometimes the best performances came suddenly as you realized that all your attention was focused on someone you believed it was the main performer and the true routine was starting somewhere else. The clowns did a very good job.
The particular show I saw in San Sebastián was the Dralion.
I was not sat in the arena but a little away from the stage, where the price was much lower :).  If I were to go again, I would pay slightly more and get better seats, even if only slightly, as it dramatically improves your experience. I could see the full stage and all the macro action, but I lost some details.
Wrapping it up, It was a really good experience and I think everyone should go. I definitely will watch other themes of the show when i have the chance. It’s suitable for all ages and it will certainly dazle your kids; it dazled me.
P.S: I only missed popcorn and cotton candy… It would be much funnier xP! But in other hand it was good not have popcorn, my body thanks.
