Today is San Sebastian’s city holiday.
It´s a very dear day to all Donostiarras not only because basques have a strong bond with their land, but also because they celebrate it with a traditional ”tamborrada”. It consists of many parades all over the city, where everyone goes to the streets dressed in vestments that resemble the early 19th century (or cooks) and play drums! The bands depart at midnight of 21st January and keep on going until the midnight of 22nd January. The city dresses up with peace and ocean colours – blue and white- like the colours of its flag. Basque country flags can be spotted in the midst as well!
Let me then share with you some photos of the streets, people, their cloths, and even pastrie, as well as a video of this great ”tamborrada”. Enjoy!:)
