Last month, after spending a great time in The Netherlands we decided to explore 3 capitals in Central and Eastern Europe; starting with Prague, then Vienna and finishing in Bratislava. I made this trip during Christmas time. It was (for me) a great experience, despite the freezing weather 🙂
This post will be about Prague. Prague, located in the center of Europe, capital of Czech Republic – a member of a Union European but without the Euro currency (which could help making your days in Prague cheaper) -, is home of numerous architecture attractions and its historic center is part of UNESCO heritage since 1992.
No mês passado, depois de passar algumas semanas na bela Holanda decidimos explorar 3 capitais na Europa Central e leste; começando em Praga, passando por Viena e terminando em Bratislava. Esta viagem foi feita em altura do advento, e para mim foi sem dúvida uma grande experiência, apesar do frio 🙂
Hoje começo o 1º post de Praga. Praga, localizada no centro da Europa, capital da República Checa – membra da União Europeia, mas sem Euro (o que pode tornar os seus dias em Praga mais baratos) -, é o lar de inúmeras atrações arquitectónicas e o seu centro histórico é património da UNESCO desde 1992. 

1. OLD TOWN SQUARE

You just arrived in Prague and you are hungry. Start with a traditional hot dog, cruise and relax in the fantastic historic center, during the afternoon.
Plan you trip so that you are in the old town when the astronomic clocks rings (o’clock sharp). It is a must see that you can’t miss. While there you can also visit the Tyn Church and if you go in December you will be able to see the fantastic Christmas market located in that square.

1. PRAÇA DA CIDADE VELHA

Chegou a Praga e certamente está com fome, por que não provar um cachorro quente com as típicas salsichas e relaxar no fantástico centro histórico durante a tarde?
Planeie a viagem de forma a conseguir estar na praça da cidade velha à hora em ponto, de forma a ver o relógio astronómico a “dançar e a cantar” metaforicamente claro. É algo que não pode perder. Lá também pode visitar a Igreja Tyn e se for em dezembro poderá desfrutar do mercado de Natal localizado nessa praça.

Para um jantar romântico, aconselho-o a fazer uma reserva num restaurante à volta da cidade velha ou perto do rio Vltava. 

2. VLTAVA RIVER AND NATIONAL THEATRE

With the end of the day coming you can stroll around near the river and admire the beautiful national theater located in front of Vltava river.

2. RIO VLTAVA E O TEATRO NACIONAL

No final do seu dia, aproveite para caminhar nas margens do rio Vltava e contemple a paisagem sem deixar de visualizar o magnífico  teatro nacional.
