Leaving Prague behind we head forth towards Vienna by train (a fast and cheap way to move between central countries).
Welcome to Vienna – an imperial, romantic, cultural and elegant city! I was mesmerized by the city. I hope that I can show you a bit of the wonder my eyes saw.
We decided to explore Vienna in 3 days, or 2 in a half to be more precisely.

Bem-vindo a Viena – cidade imperial, romântica, cultural e elegante! Fiquei hipnotizada por esta cidade e espero conseguir mostrar isso mesmo através dos próximos posts.
Decidimos explorar Viena em 3 dias, ou sendo mais precisa 2 dias e meio.
1. ST STEPHEN’S CATHEDRAL
You just arrived in Vienna at lunch time and you are hungry. I recommend you to taste the traditional soup served in a old bread. If you are lucky enough to go on Christmas time, you can try it in the Christmas market located at St. Stephen’s square.
Afterwards visit the Romanesque and Gothic cathedral, St. Stephen.
1.CATEDRAL DE SANTO ESTÊVÃO
Acabou de chegar a Viena na hora do almoço e está com fome. Recomendo que saboreie a tradicional sopa servida dentro de um pão duro. Se tiver sorte e for na época de Natal, pode experimentá-la no mercado de natal localizado na praça de Santo Estêvão.
A seguir visite a catedral românica e gótica, Santo Estêvão.
2. SHOPPING
Take a stroll by the Kärntner Street and do some shoppings.

Passeie pela famosa rua Kärntner e aproveite para fazer algumas compras.
3. SACHERTORTE
Finish at the Hotel Sacher and go the queue for the coffee house.
There delight yourself with the very famous chocolate cake invented by Austrian Franz Sacher in 1832 for Prince Wenzel von Metternich in Viena. This charming coffee house is a nice spot to relax, but in my personal opinion the torte is nothing so especial.
3. SACHERTORTE
Termine o passeio quando encontrar o Hotel Sacher e vá direto para a fila do café.
Aproveite para degustar uma fatia do famoso bolo de chocolate inventado pelo austríaco Franz Sacher em 1832 para o Príncipe Wenzel von Metternich em Viena. O local é muito agradável para relaxar, mas na minha opinião pessoal o bolo não é nada de extraordinário.
4. ALBERTINA MUSEUM
Albertina Museum is next to Sacher Hotel, so take the opportunity and visit it. If you go on a Wednesday, it is open till 9pm if not till 6pm.
Albertina Museum bears important masterpieces by Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Monet, Picasso, etc. And for Edvard Munch lovers (like me) you can see famous expressionism works like ‘Scream’ in black and white.
4. ALBERTINA MUSEUM
O museu Albertina encontra-se perto do Hotel Sacher, aproveite a oportunidade e visite-o. Se for numa quarta-feira está aberto até às 21h, caso contrário até às 18h.
O museu Albertina alberga importantes obras de Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Monet, Picasso, etc. E para os amantes de Edvard Munch (como eu) poderão ver alguns trabalhos famosos de expressionismo como o célebre ‘Grito’ a preto e branco.
End the day going to a Christmas market and have dinner there or instead go to a traditional restaurant and taste a schnitzel.
Termine o dia indo a um mercado de Natal e jante por lá ou em vez disso vá a um restaurante tradicional e prove um schnitzel.
