One of the most picturesque places to visit in Italy is Lake Como, located just below the southern border of Switzerland. Lake Como is huge, taking some time to travel around. On the map it appears as an upside down “Y” letter.
Como is a city at the base of the lake and is the city center of that region.
Um dos lugares mais pitorescos a visitar na Itália é o Lago Como, localizado logo abaixo da fronteira sulista com a Suíça.
Lago Como é enorme e é necessário algum tempo para viajar de um lado ao outro. A sua forma é semelhante a um “Y” invertido.
Como, a cidade na base do lago, é a cidade central daquela região.
With my base in Milan we made a day trip to Lake Como. A day trip is never enough to see the beautifull villas they have (like the ones in Amalfi Coast) and all the cities located there, but it still is a totally worth experience.
Com base em Milão fizemos uma day trip ao Lago Como. A viagem de um dia nunca é suficiente para ver as belas vilas (semelhantes às da Costa Amalfitana) e todas as cidades localizadas ali, mas vale a pena.
We started the day in Varenna. We reached it by train and enjoyed that morning strolling around there.
Começamos o dia em Varenna. Chegamos de comboio e aproveitamos a manhã para passear por lá.

After that, by ferry, we visited Bellagio – located at the fork of the “Y” – and we had a lunch over there (my favourite place, in Lake Como).
Seguimos, por ferry, para Bellagio – localizada na bifurcação do “Y” – e almoçamos por lá (a minha localidade favorita do Lago Como).
In the afternoon we went to Como, once again by ferry, and by there we took the train to Milan, at the end of the day.
It was a peacefull and romantic day, without museums and queues; but it was the perfect ending for our honeymoon. 🙂
De tarde fomos para Como, mais uma vez de ferry. E ao final do dia voltamos para Milão, de comboio.
